“A few days prior to being invited to the ‘come and see’ evening from Angela and Don, I prayed to God to give me a community. A message was waiting for me on my voicemail. I knew it was an answer to prayer. Belonging to this community has meant that I have a group of Christian friends who are committed to the Lord, to one another and can be counted on. We love and care for each other and grow in faith together. I am blessed.”
We are so blessed to be members of the Love One Another Community. One day in May, 2016, after a daily mass at St. Michael’s, Don was standing outside the day chapel entrance and handing out invitations for a gathering to “Come and See”. I took the invitation and a leaflet about Alleluia Community. Full of curiosity, both of us attended the gathering of “Come and See” on May 10, 2016. While we were there we fell in love with this Spirit-filled community. With the same joyful feeling of Andrew sharing with his brother, Simon Peter, “I have found Jesus, the Risen Lord,” we too have found the Lord in the Love One Another Community. We have been committed to this community since then.
I grew up as a Catholic, but always felt like being in lukewarm water, always looking for more. When I heard about this community I prayed and found that it was my call to start a new and strong relationship with God. Feeling the presence of the Holy Spirit around us and our family, and praying for all the members of “Love One Another Community” makes me feel the love that just came from a family like in Acts 2:44 “Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common.”
My husband and I were at a point in our lives where we wanted to strengthen and deepen our relationship with the Lord. We wanted to seek out friends where we could speak openly about Jesus, share our faith journey, and uncover the deep mysteries and treasures that the Lord had in store for all of His believers.
Our prayers were answered when we were invited by my colleague and her husband to attend a ‘Come & See’ evening. We instantly felt the presence of the Holy Spirit in this community, and we wanted to be a part of it.
Joining the Love One Another community has been inspiring and encouraging to our family. It has drawn our family closer especially with the kids. It’s fulfilling to know that everyone in the community aspires to be great stewards of the Lord. Our family has discovered some great friends in the Love One Another community; friends who are willing to walk with us in our spiritual journey to the Lord.
