Introduction

The prayer watch is an important element that connects us to the Community and requires continued commitment.  Our primary focus during the prayer watch should be on the prayer, although it is important to not be legalistic.  When adults are taking over the prayer watch, set aside at least 10-15 minutes to intercede and listen in prayer. When it is the children’s day for the prayer watch, go through the sub-heading and spend as much time as their attentions span can continue.

Receiving the Watch

I receive the watch, ready and able to fulfill my responsibility.  May God return to (previous person’s name) ten-fold blessings for the time and energy that was invested in the watch.

Beginning Prayer

Father, Adonai Most High God, I undertake this watch as a watchman for the Love One Another Community as part of my covenant or underway commitment.  I will endeavor to be faithful to fulfill the purpose of the watch and to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit.  I ask you to keep me alert and mindful, and to ask you to hear my prayers as a representative of the Community.  It is our Community’s desire that we live our lives fully under the Lordship, the protection and the provision of Jesus.  This is our primary prayer.  We ask you to respond only to those prayers which live up to our primary prayer.  We want to live fully, totally and radically for Jesus and to further the coming of His Kingdom.  Forgive us for all the ways that we fall short of this commitment.  We ask you to remove any barriers that would hinder our prayers or our warfare.

Our purpose in life is to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, all our souls, all our minds, all our being, all our strength and all our resources, paying attention to what He says, to follow all His ways and to cling to Him.

God is Love as the Basis of our Covenant

God is love and has loved us with an everlasting love, is constant in His affection towards us and is holding us close to His breast.  As far as the East is from the West, so far has He forgiven our sins.  Jesus, Messiah, the Son of the Father, is the Lord of our lives.  He is the master of our homes, Holy, Ruler of all that we are, the Lion of Judah, and King of the whole earth.

You, Father, say to us: “You are my people and I am your God.”   It is you, Jesus, who said it is by the revelation of your Father that you would build our community on the truth that You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.  Father, You called us out of darkness into your wonderful light, You are molding us into the pattern of your Son, You have justified and glorified us and have filled us with Your Holy Spirit.

With this as the foundation of our Community, we covenant ourselves to You, we say “Yes” to You and commit ourselves to constantly seek Your face.

Our Covenant

We also covenant ourselves to each other and promise to:

  • Love You, Lord our God, with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.
  • Love each other as much as Jesus loves us.
  • Respect the authority of our community and our Church leaders.
  • Commit ourselves to the call to holiness through listening to, meditating and contemplating on the word of God.
  • Participate in our community gatherings unless released by the leaders of our community.
  • Subordinate this covenant to our marital, or celibate and church commitments.
  • Forgive others’ offense against us and be quick to forgive.
  • Accept our financial responsibilities to the community.
  • Commit to an ongoing formation program.
  • Be open to the use of the charismatic gifts
  • Serve one another, our church congregations and the society at large.
  • Be open to having disciples of Jesus of various Christian traditions in our midst.
  • Respond to a radical call of humility and that we would empty ourselves and be filled with Jesus.

We regard this covenant as a serious commitment and we enter into it with a good conscience, freely, and in faith.

The Covenant Prayer

Messiah Jesus, help each of us to live our Covenant under the power and the anointing of Your Holy Spirit.  Messiah, enable each of us with Your grace to live them fully for your Glory.

This prayer watch is divided into four parts:

1)    Songs of Praise and Worship

We gratefully acknowledge that You are, Oh Eternal, our God, the God of our ancestors for evermore.  You are the Rock of our life and the Shield of our salvation.

You remember what has been done from eternity.  Before You all secrets are revealed, as well as the multitude of things concealed from the very beginning.  There is no darkness before the throne of Your glory, nor is anything hidden from Your eyes.  Everything is revealed and known in your presence, Oh Eternal, our God!  You look and you behold everything.

Blessed be You, Adonai, the God of Israel our Father, forever and ever.  Yours, Adonai, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty; for every thing in heaven and on earth is Yours.  The Kingdom is Yours, Adonai; and You are exalted as head over all.  Riches and honour come from You, You rule everything, in Your hand is power and strength, You have the capacity to make great and to give strength to all.  Therefore, our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name.  (From David’s prayer, I Chronicles 29:10-13).

2)    Repentance

God, in Your grace, have mercy on us; in Your great compassion, blot out our sins.  Wash us completely from our guilt, and cleanse us from our sin.  For we know our sins. They confront us all the time.  True, we were born guilty, were sinners from the moment our mothers conceived us.  Still You want truth in the inner person so make us know wisdom in our inmost hearts.  Create in us a clean heart, God, renew in us a strong spirit (adapted from Psalm 51).

We have sinned by deserting You.  We have not listened to Your commandments, have not observed them, and we have not done what You commanded us to do for our own good.  All that You have brought down on us, all that You have done to us, You have been fully justified in doing.  Do not abandon us forever, for the sake of Your name; do not break Your covenant. Do not withdraw Your favour from us, for the sake of Abraham, Moses, and all Your prophets and Your Son, Jesus, Your Messiah.  But may the contrite soul, the humbled be acceptable to You…and now we put our whole heart into following You, into fearing You, and seeking Your face once more (adapted from Daniel 3:29-41).

Our ancestors sinned; they are no more and we bear the weight of their guilt.  Yet, You, Adonai, rule from age to age…make us come back to You (adapted from Lamentations 5:7, 19-21).

Father, we have allowed the death of one billon unborn children world-wide through abortion. Collectively, we have sinned against Heaven and against You; we are no longer worthy to be called Your sons and daughters treat us like one of Your hired workers (adapted from Luke 15:18-19).

3)    Spiritual Warfare

Father, You have shown us that we are resisted in living fully for You and for one another because of the work of Satan and his evil spirits.  We believe that You have revealed a number of strongholds and other controlling spirits who are at war against us.  We ask that You send angels to war on our behalf against these demonic forces.  Guard and protect our prayers of spiritual warfare.  We specifically pray against the strongholds of: witchcraft, mammon, confusion, rebellion and other controlling spirits such as death, death to relationships, infirmity, pride, lust, sorcery, prayerlessness, sloth, obtuse spirit, gluttony, insecurity/rejection, isolation, deception, divination, fear, divorce, pornography, addiction, disunity, greed and any other spirits harassing us individually or communally.  We command you, strongholds and spirits to leave us now.  Be gone in the name of Jesus!

4)    Intercessory Prayer

O Holy Spirit come, keep blowing on us and lead us to God, Our Lord and King.  Fill the hearts of Your faithful, enkindle within us the fire of Your love.  O come Holy Spirit, set us on fire to love one another.  Alleluia, Glory.

For our health issues, help us Lord!

Especially help us with Covid-19

For our financial issues, help us Lord!

For the troubles in our lives, help us Lord!

For unity of all Christians

Father, we pray for unity in all branches of the Body of Christ as well as for repentance and reconciliation between the Jew and Gentile traditions of the Church.  We pray that we all may be one so that Jesus can return for one bride.

For leaders and all community members

We pray for our community elders and wise women, for parents, for those in ministry that You would give them wisdom and discernment for us.  Make us all one, Lord Jesus, as You are in your Father and the Father in You.  Provide all with purposeful jobs and financial sufficiency.  Especially, that You would bless our relationships that they would be whole, righteous, and loving.

  • Abba, Father, guard us by the power of Your name.
  • Keep watch over us.
  • You have given us Your word:
    • Protect us from the evil one.
    • Set us apart for holiness by means of Your truth.

For Protection and good health

Lord, we ask that You protect us from all the designs of the enemy to hurt or hinder us.  We acknowledge that You are sovereign over every area of our lives.  Jesus, we trust in You.

We pray for the cessation of Covid-19 and any other plague in the future.

For our children and grandchildren

Lord Jesus, we ask for Your protecting hand to be over all our children and grandchildren.  We pray for their salvation and that they would not leave this world without Your friendship.

Outreach Prayer

Father, You have not created us for ourselves; You have made us for Yourself and for others.  Help us as a people to reach out of our lives and be a blessing to many.

Communication Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are the “Word made flesh.”  You are the perfectly clear communication.  Lord, help our communications with everyone to be clear.

Prayer for the persecuted Church and Israel and against terrorism.

Father God, we come before You to intercede for the world and all its trouble.  We ask You that You move on the earth and that a mighty outpouring of repentance and revival change the hearts of individuals, resulting in changes to nations, cultures and peoples.  We pray for You to give solace to those who in many countries have been victims of terrorist acts and for those who are currently being persecuted because they are Christians or Jews.

Prayer for healings and miracles and the increase of charisms.

Lord, you have called us to be a charismatic people.  Your word in I Corinthians (14:1) says “Earnestly desire the spiritual gifts; especially seek to be able to prophesy.”  Adonai, you also said in your word to “Make love your aim.”  Help us to love others more than our own reputation and free us from fear to take risks in using the charismatic gifts.  Lord, help our evangelistic efforts bear more fruit through an outpouring of words of knowledge, words of wisdom, prophecy, healing and miracles.  We beg You, Lord, to increase our faith.

The Closing Prayer

Father, I am preparing to pass the watch on to another brother/sister. I pray for my replacement and ask you to fill the coming watch with zeal and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Heavenly Father, as we come to the end of our prayer watch, we thank you for what has been accomplished here today.  Father, according to your word, you have given angels charge over us to guard us in all our ways. As we conclude this prayer watch, let your word take root and produce blessings and beautiful things in our lives and Community.

“In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen”

ADDENDUM

The Ten Words of our Community

These ten words were the most common words of the prophecies over the last four years amounting to thirty-eight pages of text.

Children:  Jesus addressed us so often as His children: being beloved, holy, humble, and His treasure[i].

Come:  Come to Me. I come to you.  Follow me, come in prayer, peace, and sit at my feet. Come to the living water. My Holy Spirit will come upon you[ii]

Give:  I give you peace, power, eternal life, my kingdom, joy, forgiveness.  God answers and the desires of your heart; give to me whatever the cost; give to me of your resources and give of your all[iii].

God:  God is wonderful, is joy, is forgiveness.  God is the Word and mercy; all is possible with God; we are the house of God and precious in His sight; His word stands forever[iv].

Heart:  Jesus is born in our hearts and speaks to our hearts; He will fill our hearts with love; He gives us the fire of his love and will give us the desires of our hearts.[v]

Life:  I am: the life, the bread of life, the fountain of life, the life of the world and eternal life.  Give me the burdens of life and let me be the centre of your life.  I will care for you every day of your life.  Let Me transform your life to My will[vi].

Love:  I am love.  Love me.  Love one another as I love you.  Let me fill your hearts with love from My ocean of love.  Chose to love.  Be a community of love.  I love each one of you.  My face is a face of love and I am a fountain of love.  Love each other and bless each one.  You are the Love One Another Community[vii].

One:  I am the Holy One of Israel.  When you love one another, I am there in your midst.  Come and join Me My beloved ones.  I will break down barriers of division as you become one with me and you in Me.[viii]

See:  Listen-hear-come-see-understand-strive-hope-cling-be faithful-love-believe.  See My might, My glory, and My light.  See, a storm is coming but do not fear.  I am building you into a community of love for others to see.  See more miracles in your life.  You do not see Me working in the background of your life. [ix]

Take:  Beloved ones.  You have just started.  There is so much more to learn, to do, so much to enjoy.  Take all of it and journey with Me.  Take time, My people.  Be silent before Me.  Only then can I speak into your hearts.  Take time to be still.  My voice is quiet.[x]

Prayer for Community Formation

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle within us the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and we shall be created and you shall renew the face of the earth. Let us pray, O God, who by the light of your Holy Spirit, instruct the hearts of your faithful here before you. Grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolations. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Jesus, come join us in our journey as we seek your will for this community in this environment. Teach us to love each other as you love us, to give ourselves as you give yourself that the kingdom of God might be made present to all. Amen.
